History of Liberation War On March 23, 1971, the flag of independent Bangladesh was hoisted in Kumarkhali. Many freedom fighters were martyred when the freedom fighters attacked the house of a local Razakar on 6 August. During the liberation war many razakars were killed in the fight against the freedom fighters along with Pak army and local razakars. On December 9, Kumarkhali upazila was liberated. Kumarkhali Upazila Parishad of Kushtia district is 200 meters away from the north side of the bus stand. Kumarkhali Upazila Muktijoddha Mancha is located in the upazila parishad chhatra.
