Mir Mosharraf Hossain

(November 13, 1847 - 1912) was a Bengali novelist, playwright and essayist. He was born in the British India (now Bangladesh) of Lahinipara village of Chandra union under Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district. His life was spent in Kushtia, later in Padmadi of Faridpur and at the end of various schools of Krishnanagar. He spent most of his life working in the Nawab Estate of Faridpur. He lived in Calcutta for some time.

Mir Mosharraf Hossain introduced novel, drama, drama, poetry and essays through his versatile talent, introduced a rich trend in Bengali literature of Muslim literature in modern times. He has a special achievement in the writings of literary books. His best works in the novel "Bihadisindhu" written on Karbala's sad case His works started the modern literary tradition of the Muslim society of Bengal.


Dasha mass grave

20 Sraban was the peasant Club Border Border on Khokaa-Kumarakhali border. On this day of 1971 (Bangla 20 Shravan 1378) 5 freedom fighters - Iqbal, Ansar, Lutfar, Kuddus and Gopal were martyred. They are buried in a grave beside Kushtia Tiller Jike Road. This mass graveyard is a place of respect for the residents of the 71's located in Sandiara-Dasa under Kumarkhali upazila. In light of the long-standing demands of the locals, the construction of the Dasha Martyr memorial monument named Blood Donation was started on November 28, 2014 in collaboration with the local freedom fighters and the local people of the Liberation War and political leaders. The results were unveiled on May 25, 2015.
