Kumarkhali upazila is very rich in business and business. When rail connectivity with Calcutta came in 1862, business and commerce reached the top of the list because of the connectivity of Kushtia with East Bengal on river and rail. There are 3 famous textile mills here, 1. Rana Textile Mills, 2 Bulbul Textile Mills, 3 Eastan Fabrics, the famous bedshit, lungi, towel, are well-respected at home and abroad. Here, 40% of the people work through the weaving industry. Besides, there are folk artists of boutique, handcraft and other cottage industries.
