Kumarkhali is the relatively ancient township of the Kushtia region. There is a conception that this region has emerged from the lotus womb. The extensive area of Kumarkhali that once was in the river shows the varnamaya with 'Charakkol' and the abundance of coals and bill. It is said that Nawab Murshid Quli Khan appointed Kamarkuli Khan collector of this region for the collection of revenue. The name of this region is called 'Kamarkhali', under its name, whose manifested form is 'Kumarkhali'. There is also the idea that the name of 'Kumarakali' from the Kumar river canal is shared by some people.
Kumarkhali's position and dignity has changed frequently due to the change in administrative structure. After being elevated from the thana to the subdivision, Kumarkhali was again turned into a police station. Prior to the British rule, the Kumarkhali region was included in Faridpur and Jessore. Subsequently Kumarkhali, as a police station or a subdivision, is included in Rajshahi, Pabna, Nadia and finally Kushtia district respectively. In 1857, Kumarkhali subdivision was born with Kumarkhali, Khoksa, Pangsha and Baliakandi thanas under Pabna district. But in 1871, in the presence of Kushtia subdivision of Nadia district, the status of Kumarkhali subdivision became lost again. Kumarkhali thana was headquartered in the nearby village of Bhaluka. Kumarkhali was once under the rule of Natore. Later in the Jorasanko's Thakur-zamindari was included. There are still some monuments and monuments in the Kumarkhali region that have been built by Rani Bhabani and his descendants.
